We are new, but...
... we all start somewhere, just like you. We are building towards a bigger and better future for South African authors. This is why are encouraging writers to submit their story.
About The White Rabbit Warren
The White Rabbit Warren was created by Caylynne King in 2021 with the purpose of wanting to help small and unknown writers. The aim was to help prepare and teach writers how to edit, write fiction and nonfiction, and how to prepare their novel for publication. Since then, Caylynne aimed to make sure the White Rabbit Warren became a known name by showing the logo in her short stories on YouTube.
Today Caylynne uses it to still help writers, but to also use it as her publication company and as her record label. She will continue to showcase the name as her publishing company and to build a name for it to encourage those, including South Africans, who struggle to publish science fiction, fantasy, horror, and other similar genres.
The point of The White Rabbit Warren is to allow it to expand and bring fictional novels back into South Africa, especially by South African authors.
Submissions are currently closed.
However, this will change later in 2025.
We are looking for authors who would like to publish their manuscript but have not been able to because they've been told it doesn't suit the South African market, there "isn't anything to compare it to", or your name doesn't receive a second glance because you don't have a supermassive following base.
Please note:
Whether your story is lacking anything, we want to let you know how it can be improved. PLEASE DON'T STRESS. The story is what matters!
We want to know where you plan on taking your story . We want to make sure that your dreams are achieved. No matter how big you want to go, there are always steps to achieve your dreams. We can help you focus on what needs to happen.
Is your story ready for publication? We will take you through the progress and publication. We help you edit your manuscript and help design your cover. We want to take care of the authors we take on board, meaning we will work on book trailers, encourage you to post on social media, and make sure that you are set up with our distributor.
Although we are encouraging anyone to submit their work, there is no promise that we will take on your project. Should we feel that your novel is not ready for publication after you submit your work, we will always give you a reason why we feel it is not ready or not right for The White Rabbit Warren. This does not mean you shouldn't send us your work! We are open-minded to all genres: any fictional and non-fictional work!
Submission Guide:
When submitting your work in an email, please let us know the following:
Name and surname (Especially if you are also writing under a pen name).
Who you are - we'd like to know a bit about you. This gives us a personal connection with you.
A short synopsis of 500 words covering what your book is about. You can write more than 500 words, but please don't make it too lengthy.
Tell us what inspired you to write your novel. We all have "silly" little dreams whether we read fanfiction on an actor, heard a song that gave ideas, or perhaps you got the idea while tripping - we don't care. This is always the fun part.
A sample chapter (Although we'd prefer you send the first chapter, we'd love to read the chapter you are most proud of). If you are planning a children's novel and have illustrations, please send us some examples too.

Subject line: Title of your story and your name
PLEASE ONLY SUBMIT ONE SAMPLE AT A TIME. If you have more than one story ready to send to us, rather send them one at a time - if it is rejected then you may proceed to submit the next sample.
